Tom, a young advertising copywriter, travels to the country for the funeral of his lover, Guillaume. There, he’s shocked to find out no one knows who he is, nor who he was to the deceased. Guillaume’s brother Francis, a monstrous embodiment of rural machismo, soon confronts him and sets the rules of a twisted game. With family’s name at stake, it becomes clear to Tom that he may not leave the farm.

XAVIER DOLAN

Born in Quebec, Canada, in 1989, his first acting job came at the age of four with a series of TV advertisements. Since then, he has appeared in films including Heads or Tails (1997) and The Hidden Fortress (2001). His debut feature as a director, I Killed My Mother (2009), won the Youth Award at the Cannes Film Festival. He also directed Heartbeats (2010), Laurence Anyways (2012) and Tom at the Farm (2013), all of them presented at the Mostra.
