In April, 2001, Alia Arasoughly travelled almost every day along the roads from Ramallah to Jerusalem, through a veritable field of mines, a possible victim, exposed to stray gunfire, to tear gas, or even to any stone thrown by a Palestinian boy. She and her four companions in the team knew that, at any moment, they might be wounded or killed. These were months of sheer terror and absolute stress. All of this effort was directed towards one objective, namely, to make a documentary on day-to-day life for eight Palestine women from different social classes in territory occupied by Israel. The film was made under extremely precarious conditions of high risk to the safety of the entire team. With no armored cars, no bullet-proof waistcoats, no life insurance, or any other type of safety precaution, they have produced an impacting picture of the tragic conditions of life and survival of these war victims.
