Based on actual fact, the film focuses on the hostile reception dispensed to the Japanese who were held hostage in Irak, on their return to Japan following liberation in April 2004. The film centers on the pain and despair of Yuko, an ex-hostage condemned and rejected by her own community. Yuko?s return to her homeland is sheer torture: she is left with the sensation that all of society is against her. With insults in the streets, anonymous telephone calls, and aggression - bodily aggression. Yuko is dismissed from her job, ever more lonely and driven to despair, to the extent she cogitates returning once more to Irak.
