Thurid and Rannveig were brought up to keep the name and the honor of the family above any suspicion. This has always been a priority issue in their lives. Even the rigid up-bringing with which they were raised, however, has not been sufficient to ensure that they will follow the rules to perfection. Thurid has aged and the harsh rules she learned have left their mark on her, so that she has become selfish and consumed by sadness. Rannveig, in turn, has taken another path in her life and has become a generous light-hearted person. Her enterprising spirit made her decide to go to Copenhagen to study and go in search of love. To Thurid’s greater chagrin, her sister’s departure to Copenhagen has unexpected consequences that are in no way honorable. In a good-humored fashion, Honour of the House, views the intense relationship between the two sisters whose fate is more closely bound than might be imagined.
