Hobby started as an innocent journey to witness the release of a video-game console in Japan but little by little, as these things usually do, it changed into a showcase of some of the many wonderful ways in which the Japanese spend their leisure time. It’s a documentary that aims to entertain speaking about entertainment.

CIRO ALTABÁS

He was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1977, studied Media Studies at the Universidad Europea de Madrid and filmmaking in the London Film School. Still in London, he worked in a number of different short films as a producer, director of photography, editor, art director, sound recordist and director both in film and in video. His short film Phobia was awarded in film festivals and was also screened in the Official Selection of the 59 Mostra di Venezia. Back in Madrid he directed the short films DVD, Made in Japan and Manual Práctico del Amigo Imaginario (Abreviado) as well as shooting the documentary Hobby in Japan.
