Romantic comedy on Nazism made by a German director. It is 1944. Joseph Goebbels, the terrible Minister of Propaganda of the Third Reich is on his way to Obersalzberg, when he escapes, by a hair’s breadth, from an attempt on his life. His rival, Heinrich Himmler, is behind the attempt. To protect the physical integrity of the Nazi leader, Goebbels’ double comes on the scene - Jewish prisoner Harry Geduldig. Himmler is responsible for the exchange but says nothing to Hitler. Goebbels eventually finds himself in a concentration camp, while Geduldig holds control over German propaganda. The ex-prisoner is now to use the situation to try and save his beloved Grete Zipfel, still a prisoner in the camp, from death. From one political rally to another, welcomed with an accolade by the crowd, Geduldig gradually realizes he is in a lion?s den. When he reaches Obersalzberg, he meets “his wife”, Magda and will have to face the Führer in person.
