Sílvio Tendler waited for 21 years to make this film on the death of Glauber Rocha (1939-1981), the film maker who most intensely interpreted Brazil on film, in writings, and in interviews. He was only able to begin work three years ago when the family of the director from Bahia gave him access to the historical photographs of the wake and of the funeral. "I understood perfectly well about the pain of loss, I waited, I never gave an interview, I never brought up the subject, because I wanted the dust to settle, as in fact, happened," said Tendler. The film also shows Glauber in other circumstances at the end of his life: his vehement response to the unfavorable reaction to The Age of the Earth at the Venice Film Festival, in 1981. The film closes with statements by Ferreira Gullar, Arnaldo Jabor, Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Orlando Senna, Paulo César Saraceni, Helena Ignez, José Celso Martinez Corrêa, João Ubaldo Ribeiro, and Sylvie Pierre, among others.
