In 1954, photographer Dorothea Lange, at the time known worldwide for her reporting, travelled to County Clare in Ireland as special correspondent for Life magazine. She took 2,400 photographs to document a mode of rural life that was soon to disappear. In her first feature, Irish director retraces Dorothea Lange?s steps, traveling over country roads and meeting up with many of the men and women immortalized by the camera lens of the celebrated photographer almost five decades previously. Present-day images are a counterpart to records from the fifties, registering personalities true to their native land.

DIERDRE LYNCH

Born in 1960 in the city of Lowell, Massachusetts (USA), she worked for great television channels for 13 years as a camera-woman, editor, and producer and accumulated vast experience as a journalist. She was later active in programs in Discovery Channel and CBS. Today, she lives and works in San Francisco. Her documentary Photos to Send is her first film.
