This documentary shows the preparation for the film The Russian Arc, by Alexsandr Sokúrov. A journalist, script writer, director, and camera man Michal Bukojemski recorded the most important and most eloquent moments of the film, a prodigious technical achievement in one single take of 97 minutes. Make-up staff, call boys, decorators, and artists are witness to the fact, as also the Director of the Hermitage Museum, the site for location. Finally, the film maker explains how the idea of unifying the cultures of Russia and Eastern Europe first came about and the difficulties faced.

MICHAL BUKOJEMSKI

He worked for years for Warsaw Documentary Productions, a producer of documentaries in Warsaw, Poland. Over the last 12 years, he made video-reports on Russia for ABC News, a TV broadcaster in the United States. As from 1996, he took up activities as independent producer and worked in over 100 films as camera operator, in addition to directing other documentaries and films for TV in Poland.
