He is unrecognised by the great public, a person who mixes with the crowds that fill the suburban trains, passing undetected in the comings and goings of the multitudes. Nevertheless, there are few who don’t know his drum-beat lyrics by heart. This Brazilian, a samba music composer, is the main focus of Sons of Samba, a documentary which goes to the suburbs to uncover the personalities so popular, yet so anonymous, who are the soul of Brazilian samba.

GERMANO FEHR E TOMÁS CARVALHO

Germano Fehr Born in São Paulo in 1974. Is a musical producer and composer. His passion for samba was the motive behind the research which led to Sons of Samba, his first documentary. Tomás Carvalho Born in São Paulo in 1976. Studied Social Communication in Brazil before studying Photography and Cinematography in Cuba and in the USA. Currently produces and directs video for institutions and is a volunteer on Campo Limpo’s Audiovisual Project. Sons of Samba is his first film.
