A comedy about impostors in philanthropic charity and related mafias At the age of 35, Ovidiu still lives with his parents in Bucharest, a city of contrast. A teacher in high school, he is representative of a class they describe as “a beggar with a diploma”. However, he is not easily discouraged. He believes he will become a successful writer. One day, a toothpaste commercial changes his life. The commercial has a name: Diana, a gorgeous brunette age 20. For her, Ovidiu will devise a fictitious life riding in fast cars, dining out in trendy restaurants, spending what he in reality does not have. He is aided and abetted by Pepe, a rascal from the mafia who makes up texts and “life stories” for the beggars in town for a living. In exchange, he is to be the central character in a master stroke Pepe is planning for the restaurants in town. Ovidiu will accept all, provided this will win him the affection of Diana. Awarded the Prize from the Public at the Paris Film Festival, 2002.
