To the director, a map of Syria can be reduced to friends and roads traveled. The history of the country can be told by means of a camera, with the words of three women: psychiatrist Fadia, gynecologist Raghida, and executive Rola. As from the story of Youssef, painter and, also, her husband, director Hala Alabdalla recounts her own story, a history of art, and presents her ideas on liberty, democracy, and exile. The stories have resulted in a film that is very personal, an expression of her doubts and of her certainties. It has been her dream, for twenty years, to make the film. For such, she seeks refuge close to the sea, in her forgotten childhood, or in the sacred burial grounds of poetry. She shares her intimacy with co-director Ammar Al Beik who captures the images created by husband Youssef. The film is like a jig-saw puzzle in black and white and refers to the importance of poetry.
