Ariel, a Jewish boy is proud of his ancestry, yet is undergoing an identity crisis. Santamaria is a banker whose dignity is reduced to nought when he loses his job, his own house, and his marriage. Ariel and Santamaria are two beings in search of answers. Ariel has turned his back on an environment of comfort to discover the world. Santamaria has been cast out from the world he knew and is seeking a means to find himself once more. These are small urban fables that take place in Buenos Aires, yet might equally well occur in any great city. Director Daniel Burman explains the origins of his film: "Twenty-four years ago, a rabbi came to where I was and cut off a part of my penis. Eleven years ago, when I entered adolescence, a rabbi gave me the Sacred Books and explained my rights and privileges during the Bar-Mitzva. Some time later, I understood that to be proud of my origins did not mean that I should be convinced of my fate. I then began a search for my Messiah."
