Most people have certain things in their lives that they are sorry about. Many would like to know how it would have been if they had made small decisions in any other way. In spite of the crisis because she is bordering on 30, Pamela Drury leads an ideal life of a modern independent woman. A prize-winning journalist, she has travelled the world over, but is still alone and, at times, has the feeling she has lost out on something: true love, for instance. Thirteen years ago, she refused Robert Dickson?s marriage proposal and has lived to regret it. On her birthday she is depressed and attempts suicide in the bathtub in the apartment, but fails. After a magic crash, her deepest desires come to the surface and, inexplicably, she finds herself living the life of her alter-ego: Pamela married to Robert, who, today, is as happy as can be with her husband, three children and a dog. It is at this stage that troubles start for a regretful Pamela.
