Ching is a middle-aged former actress anxious to recover her beauty, long spent. She is obsessed by the idea of finding a true fountain of youth, cost what may. The answer to her yearnings appears on the scene in the shape of Mei, a cook specialized in dumplings, boiled lumps of dough much appreciated in China. Mei?s dumplings, however, have a macabre touch to them: they are stuffed with the remains of human foetuses that, supposedly, restore youth to consumers. A criticism of the overrated cult to beauty driven by the cosmetics and rejuvenating products industry.
