DIEGO QUEMADA-DÍEZ

Born in Burgos, Spain. His short film I Want to be a Pilot (2006) was one of the Opening Films of the 30th Mostra. His first job in the film industry was in Ken Loach’s film Land and Freedom (1995, 19th Mostra) as a camera assistant. A year later, he moved to the USA in order to film Isabel Coixet’s second long-feature film Things I Never Told You (1996). He has also directed the shorts A Table is a Table (2001) and La Morena (2006). He worked as a camera operator for films such as Alejandro González Iñárritu’s 21 Grams (2003) and Fernando Meirelles’ The Constant Gardener (2005). La Jaula de Oro is his first feature film as a director.
