Keld Decker is much the worse for the fact his wife, age 25, has left him and starts to go to a local Chinese restaurant for meals. One day, the owner of the establishment comes up with a tempting proposal: an offer of US$8 thousand if Keld will marry his Chinese sister - a marriage for the sake of convenience, so that the girl can be issued with a permanent visa and can live in Denmark. Fate, however, leads these two frail, very different personalities - without so much as a language in common - to become truly involved - a touching story on the diversity of life.
