The documentary looks into the change in standard of global immigration and expands the notion of family, presenting same from the point of view of the community of Phillipine transvestites living illegally in Israel. Rejected by their families, by reason of their choice, sexually, they work six days a week, 24 hours a day, and even sleep on the job. They provide aid to the orthodox aged to save money that is then sent to their families in the Phillipines. On a day off, one evening a week, the transvestites pursue their personal dreams with performances in a group named Paper Dolls, active with a certain degree of freedom in cosmopolitan Tel-Aviv. In spite of the difficult conditions where work is concerned, of threats from criminals in the streets, of the fear of the human-bombs and the persisting fear of deportation, the Paper Dolls group gives evidence of rare generosity of spirit, humanity, and the craving to live.
