Adanggaman

In a typical village on the west coast of Africa, known as the Slave Coast, chief N`Go insists that his son Ossei marry the daughter of a rich family. Ossei cannot accept the fact that life with his true love is never to be and runs away. That same night, the village is attacked and the inhabitants killed by a band of amazons under the command of the tyrant Adanggaman. On his return, Ossei finds that his father and brother are dead: he does not know where his mother might be. He goes forth in search of his mother and finds her, once more, imprisoned and in humiliating conditions. "This film was made in a spirit of memory. Four centuries of a shameful, abominable trade, millions of victims enchained and dealt with as though they were animals. The time has come to speak out about this to us and to all, to re-open this wound in history", explains Director Roger Gnoan M`Bala.
