Born in Estonia in 1972. His first feature film, Autumn Ball (2007), won the Horizons Award at Venice Film Festival. He also made the features The Temptation of St. Tony (2009), Free Range/Ballad on Approving of the World (2013) and Roukli (2015), presented and awarded at film festivals like Berlin, Sundance, Rotterdam, Tallinn Black Nights, Karlovy Vary and Tokyo.
